The Passage GapFill item type gives the student a passage of text with multiple words removed. The student must listen to the accompanying audio and fill in the gaps (blanks). This differs from other dictation type activities in MiniLesson in that it supports longer audio and text. You can try an example activity here:

The first letter of each word is given as a hint to the student. If hints are enabled, clicking the "Get Hints" button will expose the last or second letter of each incomplete word. The teacher can choose to penalize students who use the hints feature or not.
The item is very easy to make.
- The teacher adds a new Passage GapFill item to the lesson
- They choose a voice and speed to read the text
- They add a passage of text
- They enclose words between square brackets to make the "gaps"
